STANDARD 1

Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district’s student achievement goals.

I CREATED A GOOGLE QUIZ AS A FORM OF DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT TO SEE WHERE MY STUDENTS WERE IN THEIR PHOTOSHOP SKILLS BEFORE THE LESSON. I CHANGED MY LESSON ACCORDING TO THE INFORMATION THAT MANY OF MY STUDENTS HAD LITTLE TO NO EXPERIENCE IN THE PROGRAM.

I CREATED A CLASSROOM PHILOSOPHY BOOK THAT ENCAPSULATES WHAT MY ROOM AND IDEALS ARE ALL ABOUT.

STANDARD 2

I RESEARCHED A CONTEMPORARY ARTIST AND FORMULATED A PAPER ABOUT HER TEACHING METHODS AND WORK.

c. Relates ideas and information within and across content areas.

WITH A GROUP I FORMULATED A RESEARCH PRESENTATION ABOUT THE ARTS AND ITS EFFECTS ON STUDENT PERFORMANCE AND RELATION TO OTHER CONTENT AREAS.

STANDARD 3

Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.

c. Uses student’s developmental needs, backgrounds, and interests in planning for instruction.

I WORKED COLLABORATIVELY TO CREATE A LESSON THAT INCORPORATED STUDENTS PERSONAL INTEREST WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITY. STUDENTS IN THE  SURROUNDING COMMUNITY WILL BE PARTICIPATING. THE WORK WILL BE DISPLAYED ALONG WITH THE INSPIRING ARTIST MARY GRIEP AT UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA.

THIS IS A MULTICULTURAL LESSON THAT ALLOWS STUDENTS TO INCORPORATE THEIR PERSONAL INTEREST.

STANDARD 4

I HAVE INCLUDED MY LEVEL 2 EVALUATION FORM. DURING MY LESSON I WAS ABLE TO TAKE FEEDBACK FROM MY COOPERATING TEACHER AND QUICKLY IMPLEMENT THE CHANGES IN MY FOLLOWING CLASS. (SEE NOTES IN DOCUMENT)

I CRAFTED A DIFFERENTIATION PLAN TO MEET THE NEEDS OF MY DIVERSE LEARNERS FOR A LESSON PLAN.

I WORKED WITH STUDENTS TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON A PROTOTYPE SCULPTURE THEY WERE CREATING.

I ATTENDED THE ART EDUCATORS OF IOWA CONFERENCE AND WAS ABLE TO REFLECT ON THAT AND USE THE INFORMATION FOR MY FUTURE TEACHING.
